The Lexans were a shy and secretive race of aliens that lived on the planet Lex, a dark and cold world with no moons. They had white skin, four eyes, and long tails that could sense vibrations. They hated to be seen or heard, preferring to hide in their underground tunnels and caves. They feared the stars and the other worlds that they could see in the night sky, considering them as threats and dangers.
One day, they detected a bright light from a nearby star system. It was a message of warning and caution, sent by another intelligent race that called themselves Terrans. The Lexans were terrified and confused by the message. They decided to ignore the message, hoping that it would go away.
The Terrans did not give up. They sent another message, explaining that they were from Earth, a planet that was under attack by a hostile race that called themselves Zalarians. The Zalarians had invaded Earth, and were trying to enslave or exterminate the Terrans. The Terrans said that they had managed to escape in a few spaceships, and that they were looking for allies and refuge. They said that they had chosen Lex as a potential destination, because it was dark and quiet.
The Lexans panicked. They did not want to have anything to do with the Terrans or the Zalarians. They did not want to be involved in their war or their problems. They did not want to share their planet or their resources. They did not want to expose themselves or their secrets. They wanted to be left alone.
They decided to send a fake message to the Terrans, pretending to be friendly and helpful. They told the Terrans that they were welcome to come to Lex, and that they would provide them with shelter and assistance. They also told them the exact location of their main entrance, which was hidden under a large crater.
The Terrans thanked them and said that they would arrive soon. The Lexans prepared for their arrival, but not in the way that the Terrans expected. The Lexans had a trap waiting for them. They had rigged the entrance with explosives, and they planned to blow up the Terrans as soon as they landed.
The Terrans arrived at Lex, and followed the coordinates that the Lexans had given them. They saw the crater, and assumed that it was the entrance to the Lexan civilization. They approached it cautiously, hoping to meet their new friends.
The Lexans watched them from their hidden cameras, and waited for the right moment. When the Terrans were close enough, they pressed a button, and detonated the explosives.
The crater erupted in a massive explosion, engulfing the Terran spaceships in flames and debris. The Lexans cheered and celebrated, thinking that they had eliminated the threat.
They did not notice that one of the spaceships had survived the blast, and had managed to land safely on the other side of the planet. They did not notice that the spaceship was carrying a group of elite Terran soldiers, who were armed and ready for revenge.
They did not notice that they had just started a war that they could not win.
